Vic: Food standards lax at another Benetas home: report

Food handling complaints have been raised against a second Benetas nursing home.

One of the company's homes .. Broughton Hall .. has been the centre of a food poisoning
outbreak .. with five people dying and a similar number taken to hospital.

A former cook at the home .. SANDRA SHARP has told News Limited about food issues at
the Benetas home in Altona Meadows .. in Melbourne's west.

Ms SHARP quit the job late last year .. two days after a resident became ill after
she was given expired soy milk .. and says her complaints had been ignored by head office.







Meanwhile .. Fairfax has reported allegations an elderly male outpatient at yet another
Benetas home was sexually assaulted by a staff member.

Former employee ELIZABETH BELLEINGER was sacked last month .. seven months after reporting
an elderly man was sexually assaulted by a worker who was performing sexual acts on him.
