FED: Few charges laid over leaks

CANBERRA, Feb 21 AAP - The leaking of radical proposals for tackling unemployment last week
was just the latest under the coalition government.

Almost three dozen leaks have been investigated but few charges laid, according to answers
to Questions on Notice from Labor Senator Robert Ray.

The government referred 18 matters to the Australian Federal Police (AFP), and another 15
were handled internally, concerning eight Commonwealth departments between March 1996 and
October 1998.
